About us

John Haynes grew up locally in Oxfordshire and qualified as a carpenter in 1986. After a short period as a subcontractor, began trading as John A Haynes Carpentry and Joinery in 1989.

Now with a team of qualified and experienced carpenters and joiners who pride themselves in producing high quality products coupled with a reliable and friendly, yet professional, service.

Pre-fabrication facilities at our workshop in Oxford ensure on-site fitting time is kept to a minimum.

An optional design service is provided with some of our products such as cabinets and gates with scale drawings being produced. As a guide, after the first visit and consultation, we provide a free quotation for smaller projects and an estimate for larger projects. If the estimated costing is within your budget the next stage is to produce a drawing. Once a design has been finalised a quotation can be provided. We are happy to produce designs and drawings, however if you request a drawing a fee becomes applicable should you choose not to proceed.

Where possible, our products are supplied using FSC and PEFC chain of custody certified timber from legally and sustainably managed forests, meeting economic and ecological standards.
